My superpower is to find places to recycle, everything, even the hard to recycle! Ideally, my goal is to have as little as possible go to the landfill. I specialize in finding places to recycle the “hard to recycle.” Here are some resources on the hard to recycle for you!
Books – out of date textbooks, computer books can be put in recycling center donation boxes
Clothes – clothes that cannot be donated due to rips, stains, and wear can be put in the “for profit” boxes to be ragged.
Cardboard – clean and flattened, can be put in your curbside bin and at recycle centers.
Christmas Tree Lights – many recyclers take them the same as other cords.
Electronic Waste –computers, televisions, some home appliances with a lot of electronics in them can be taken to recycle centers and e-waste facilities.
Hazardous Waste – household cleaning supplies, paint, oil, and solvents can be taken to your county hazardous waste center which may be at your recycle center.
Metal Cookware – worn out metal pans can be recycled with metal at the recycle center.
Paper – all kinds can go in your recycle bin, and shred confidential documents yourself or at a commercial company.
Styrofoam – some recycle centers take it and make it into bricks to sell to packagers.
